CONNIGERS COPSE in Brockenhurst
One of the numerous Hampshire instances of Middle English 'coni(n)gre'='rabbit warren'. Rabbits were introduced in the late 12th century, and warrens multiplied rapidly from about 1240-1260, largely on marginal land, waste or forest.
